What a topic! Last night I watched a movie with the above title. The heroine was Melissa Gilbert. Ring any bell? Ala...yang berlakon cerita Little House on the Prairie. My favorite movie masa kecik2 dulu.
Jalan ceritanya biasa2 jer. Tak ada yang istimewa sangat. Kalau hubby aku tengok sure dia kata cerita emak lah tu. Anak2 akan agree punya. Cuma mesej yang aku dapat semalam pasal kita yang kadangkala cuba untuk membetulkan hidup orang lain. Tapi hakikatnya, kita tak boleh buat apa2 pun walaupun kita berniat utk membetulkan keadaan.
At one point in the story, anak guam dia bunuh diri selepas bercakap dengan lawyer dia. Lawyer tu tak dapat datang bila anak guam dia yang belasan tahun tu call pada malam ayah lawyer tu masuk hospital. Lawyer tu rasa bersalah. Ayah lawyer tu kata, kita tidak akan tahu "monster" apa yang berada didalam kepala orang lain. The story getting complicated bila emak anak guam dia racun bapa tiri dia. Actually the mother knew what really happening to her daughter. The lawyer quit the job eventhough she knew the whole story and look after her father to make up her lost time with him. She asked some other lawyer to be the attorney.
Well, that is us. There are always people in this world who don't have enough to eat, don't have house to live, don't have water to drink or food to feed. We cannot provide everything the world wants. Nothing much we can do actually. But we can always help ourselves by not becoming one. We can help other people if they need something that we can provide but we do not have any control over them. We cannot decide for them. If we give, give it sincerely. If we help, we help them sincerely. No string attached and we move on with our life. No need to feel guilty about it.
